A Look at Scuba Wet Suits
Scuba wet suits were not taken seriously until World War II and the advent of Navy Frogmen (SEALs) who became one of America's most effective weapons of the war. On any kind of measurable basis, costs of operations versus costs of effectiveness, man-to-man, or overall kill ratios, the SEALs exceeded expectations on any level.

Scuba Diving Basics
There is nothing quite like scuba diving. I remember my first scuba dive. I was visiting Tobago with a friend and I decided on the spur of the moment that it was something I wanted to do, so I went to the local dive shop and signed up for the class. There were only three of us going on the dive, and the two others accompanying me were fully PADI certified, so they didn't need any instruction. That particular dive required that I have classroom lessons that lasted 4 hours. There was a lot that the instructor explained to me during that time like how to use the equipment, what decompression is, what to expect, how to use the buddy system, etc. We did a confined dive first, the afterwards went out to the reef for the open dive.

A nice sunrise welcomed us to the Similan Island. We did the first dive at our new, secret dive site, and enjoyed the 40 meter visibility and the social, to say the least, Hawksbill Turtle we usually meet here!

As always Island #9 had great conditions, with a lazy Leopard Shark, 4 Turtles and plenty of schooling fish. Afternoon dive at Three Trees, with schools of tiny colorful fish.

Koh Bon next, and another dive with several Leopard Sharks. Gin clear water, and plenty of schooling fish.

Further north is Koh Tachai, with the normal, healthy current bringing in lots of life. The Batfish cleaning station is amusing to see! And another of those Turtles Sunset dive with an inquisitive Eagle Ray!

Last stop before turning south again is Richelieu Rock. Big swarm of Chevron Barracudas in the shallows, lots of {Big-eye Trevallies, Snappers, Nudibranches, a Cuttlefish, Ghost Shrimps and a rare Zebra Moray Eel|Snappers, Nudibranches, a Cuttlefish, Ghost Shrimps, Big-eye Trevallies, and also a rare Zebra Moray Eel! And another of those Turtles

A very atmospheric afternoon dive at Koh Bon, with a Devil Ray and a school of young Batfish finished the third day.

Fourth, and unfortunately last, day of the trip started with a dive at island #9 in the Similan Island. Whitetip Shark, schools of fish and a very scenic dive indeed. Grand Finale at Huge Moray Eels, Ribbon Eels, Mantis Shrimps, Jawfish and Nudibranchs at Sharkfin Reef.

Good conditions all the way back to the mainland.
